A Perplexing Journey

I blog about; life with my loving husband, & our cats Siggy, and Maddie. Stuff in the news, my crafts, memes, photo posts & various other things that catch my fancy. I really like working at home, my husband appreciates my roll as housewife, and I find it my most rewarding job yet. We still hope to have children, though we still don't have any yet.

A horrible water damaged loss!

::Update at bottom of post!::

I’m so sad! I didn’t realize we had lost this box. I knew that there were things under a tarp in the back that are trash and was planning to move them to the trash and I found a plastic box in it all and my heart just sank! Basically all of the photos that I received from my parents between the Christmas (2004) before we left san Jose and all the photos from repairing the San Jose Condo/selling it and in Pleasanton, and the time around then, and the ones of daddy in the hospital when he had his heart attack, and when we very first moved to WA... All those photos got destroyed when moving. And some with Magda and grandma and grandpa Juett at Christmas and Kevin and grandpa on our couch with my laptop, I’m not sure what year... Also lost is our copies of Amy or Dustin’s kids birth certificates, I couldn’t make out which, just that it was Colorado, 2004 and birth. Also lost our copy Gavin’s birth certificate, and I think our copy of grandpa Baker’s death certificate. Lost the Valentine’s 2005 page Pat made of her grandkids, and I think maybe the photos from our Calistoga trip. I’m still spreading it all out to identify it all. Some photos are just white and all the ink had run off so I’m just figuring it out based on what was around it. Amazingly I didn’t loose any negatives because I’ve always had those inside in my safe, but I’m not sure who all the photos came from, I’m pretty certain they were all ones my parents gave me but I'm not completely certain though.

If you gave me photos between 11/2004 and 11/2005 I'm assuming they are all lost and would appreciate it if you could please make me photo CD’s from all these times I’d really appreciate it!!! I’m dizzy thinking about how much I’ve lost! It’s very depressing.

I also lost lots of craft things; erasers, stickers, many celestial, and Sanrio ones. I’m so sad! We lost the 100+ year old Bible - the one we had in the wedding photos of our rings, and we lost a disposable camera that had a couple pictures taken on them - who knows what was taken with that camera. We lost the wood toy box that I was stenciling and repairing to make as a toy box for the kids room (This one is probably better anyway). Many nice sheets of various kinds of scrapbook paper. A whole set of expired Tupperware catalogs. Some journals I hadn’t even had a chance to write in yet. Thread, beading wire, several rolls of scrapbook quality tape and double stick tape, all our pencil sharpeners, a Dymo label maker and all the variations of label tape I had. A sheet of Disney Friends mail stamps and a sheet of flowers Love stamps... It’s just such a complete loss!

Apparently a plastic box of craft things got inside a cardboard box of scrap paper. The scrap paper was fine to trash, but the rest leaves me heartbroken! I know eventually a lot can be replaced, but it is still sad. Please don’t worry about printing it at all for me. On CD is so much better, then I can print as I go through scrapbooking it all. If you feel so compelled I go to Staples to buy my printing supplies.

I think it all got lost because it was in-between quick moves. It was things I never really was able to look at, and that was packed since Pleasanton. There were many boxes that got soaked when we first moved here to Sultan. I called my cousin Lynnette (who lives in the next town over) back then for help and she sent her boys and pastor over and they helped a lot but somehow we all missed this one box and now everything in it is rotten and a complete lost.

Eventually I might be able to replace some of the craft supplies, but I can’t afford it right now. It’s just a sad setback. I feel like I know a little bit how flood victims feel seeing very special things destroyed by water. Please help me replace what you can!?
