A Perplexing Journey

I blog about; life with my loving husband, & our cats Siggy, and Maddie. Stuff in the news, my crafts, memes, photo posts & various other things that catch my fancy. I really like working at home, my husband appreciates my roll as housewife, and I find it my most rewarding job yet. We still hope to have children, though we still don't have any yet.

This is outrageous!

In a recent post by Michelle Malkin she pointed out to her readers that "Flag-folding recitations now banned at national cemeteries"!

This was originally reported in Military Times.

According to the articles, "The complaint revolved around the narration in the 11th fold, which celebrates Jewish war veterans and “glorifies the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.”"

I think the quote at the end of the article from Military Times is important:
"Rabbi Yitzhak Miller of Temple Beth El said he understands the ban.

“It is a perfect example of government choosing to ignore religion in order to avoid offending some religions,” Miller said. “To me, ignoring religion in general is just as problematic as endorsing any one religion.”"

This is something that while it may not have been government sanctioned is military tradition, I'm sure there are many veterans who would be shocked if they knew this probably won't be recited at their service now. And all this stems from one complaint!
