A Perplexing Journey

I blog about; life with my loving husband, & our cats Siggy, and Maddie. Stuff in the news, my crafts, memes, photo posts & various other things that catch my fancy. I really like working at home, my husband appreciates my roll as housewife, and I find it my most rewarding job yet. We still hope to have children, though we still don't have any yet.

Arty Girlz challenge and new item for sale!

For the current Arty Girlz challenge we're to make something with the focus being the color green. So I decided to make a Saint Patrick's day necklace for my store as part of this challenge. It is posted on my Etsy shop. My asking price is $18.

I had a really fun time making this. The beads used are all quality glass. The second smallest beads are crystal. The image is the same on the reverse side. A man's hand and a woman's hand both holding a handful of clovers, with a heart behind them. I got the image from Karen's Whimsy's free images. The image is inclosed in a couple pieces of smooth glass marble and are soldered together. The charm in total is about 3 inches long. But while it's big, it's a nice piece and not terribly heavy considering the materials used. It hangs on a soft green waxed twine rope. Necklace quality, it shouldn't be scratchy at all. The ends are finished with a 3 inch extension chain, so you can adjust the length depending on what you are wearing it with. The cord in all is 22-25 inches long. Can't wait for this one to sell. I'm so tempted to keep it for myself, but I can't keep everything I create! Thanks for looking!
