A Perplexing Journey

I blog about; life with my loving husband, & our cats Siggy, and Maddie. Stuff in the news, my crafts, memes, photo posts & various other things that catch my fancy. I really like working at home, my husband appreciates my roll as housewife, and I find it my most rewarding job yet. We still hope to have children, though we still don't have any yet.

Political news - my sad addiction

I'd like to think that I'm a (insert right wing party here) because of my attention to the news, but it also comes from my morals, my finances, and my concern for the security of this nation.

I came across this article, and I wonder how many people who read it, will really read it for what it is, or will say that this is all distorted by race issues, and not read it further, for the looking forward possible analysis it offers. I honestly believe things could play out differently, after all it's been over a decade since the whole O.J. trial that they bring up, but when I read the article as a whole, I do see there is validity to have concern, especially when it comes to bi-partisanship, experience, and the security of this nation, and how the public of this nation reacts to such topics.

I'm not a pundit. But here is my can of worms, I'm not looking to pick out arguments, I just want to say I honestly hope people are making there choices because of rational reasoning and not some gut reaction. This job is too important for a popularity contest. She's dynamic, he's handsome, he's old, those are not how things should be decided. Likewise, I don't think it's right to vote for someone because of wanting the first woman or black person into office just to avoid another old white male being in office. Where the country is now needs to be considered just as much as where the country should be headed. I just don't know that I hear this balance from Mr. Obama. This election is historical, there is no denying that, but whether or not that means he can be the best person for the job, in my mind, remains to be seen.

I truly agree with your point of view on this. And as "A Conservative True American Christian", I feel so heavy burdened about where our Country is going today. I don't want to think negative about all of it, We all need to turn back to our "Roots" in this Country and that is "One Nation Under God"...so all I can do is pray. It is never too late for a Revival and pray for just that.

I am glad you feel the way you do about having a leader who will Guide us in the right direction as a whole.

Hugs,
Jeannene
