Dish Family
So in the interest of cutting back expenses and downsizing, we ended up deciding to switch to the family package for dish network. This is $20 bucks a month, still has cartoons and such, as well as more of the Christian stations, Fox news and food Network. As I told Kevin when we switched it last night, if it has Fox and Food it works for me. So this will be another bill reduced. I guess this is progress. It'd still be nice if we could get around to buying more movies or being in a rental program... I did get Breakfast at Tiffany's a few days ago with some extra money I got for my birthday. Thank you Grandma.
We did this because it still looks like we're not out of contract yet, plus as much as I know I get the same news with web feeds as what ends up on Fox news, I still prefer to watch it on TV, I think it's like my not liking to talk on the phone thing, with watching the news instead of just reading it I can see body language and other details that just get missed in the shortened written articles. And while much of what is aired on Fox News gets posted on their site, not all of it does. I've often looked for segments to blog about only to have to search YouTube for someone who happened to record that segment and post it. It works, but takes longer. And if I didn't have the channel to watch I'd most likely miss those kind of things altogether.
So I just thought I'd post this, since I've seen other bloggers mention too that the cost of satellite or cable is too much. $20 bucks doesn't seem to be so bad. And it's a bit better programming then the average package.

Ok, I like the new background but it is hard for me to read now! LOL! I am still seeing stars. We cut back on our cable last month too. I turned in my DVR box and dropped some channels. I also cut back mine and Aaron's cell phone plans. Every little bit helps. We are spending out more than we bring in each month so I am trying to pinch pennies too. I have had some withdrawls from not having my DVR! LOL! I am getting used to it now.
Ok, I just clicked back over to read more and the stars are not on the words anymore! Must me my dang computer again.
Huh, I'm not sure why that would be. Maybe it was something to do with how long it kept taking today for the blog to republish. I'm looking into switching to Word Press. Kevin and I are going to play around with switching the blog this weekend, and if it does seem like an improvement we'll be migrating the blog. The address should be the same in the end, but hopefully there will be less publishing issues. I'm glad to know you were able to eventually see the page correctly.
We're spending more then we bring in too. I was having panic attacks about buying groceries on credit, but we gotta eat. Things are looking up though, if only the price of things would stop going up so much. Kevin did get his raise last time around, and just had a great review, which bodes well for his next raise, and for his department being promoted in status which his boss is trying to do. I really pray both things happen. We need me to be stay at home, not that we have kids, but that would be nice someday. Hopefully soon.
I thought dropping the channels would be bad, but so far we're doing just fine. We really didn't need most of the channels we dropped, so it's just as well.
Do you get the God-Channel!?!?
