Glad I'm on a private road.
Kevin and I live on a private road in our tiny community at the end of a dead end four mile country road, so for us, any speeding cars are stupid neighbors, and that's a pretty rare occurrence. Something I'm very gratefully of living her. But in the local news (Local being Seattle) some poor residences have suffered fro years as the city has ignored them about the safty issues on their street from speeding cars. Desperate they raised money to try and improve things themselves only for them to now be the ones in trouble with the city, feeling that no real solution has come of their complaints so far..
Here is the story.
It's just one of those things where I'm grateful that who I go to with an issue is the community board, or, if it's a legal issue, the county sheriff. So much of this political clutter is out of the way... And I'm pretty certain the new speed bumps in front of my house right now are the same ones these neighbors bought.
It's things like this that make me grateful to live out in the country. Yes, I had some trouble talking to my friend on the phone today, the home phone started cutting out, so she called me on my cell and then that had problems too, but I'm used to that now, I'd rather have the occasional phone issues, then fear for my life any time I tried to back out of my driveway! I hope the attention this news article will be what these people need to get this issue addressed for them.
