'Death with dignity'
WA voters passed into law 'Death with Dignity' and my heart broke when I heard it passed and thought about the lives that will be lost as a result. I'm pro-life, and that includes at the end of life, not just at the start.
I read the following article and found it heartwarming that doctors and hospitals are already taking a stand saying they are not going to be part of this option. I know if I were a health care professional I'd have serious ethical and moral issues with ever having to face that issue. As a voter, guided by my faith I've had to look at it simply from my vantage point, I know dying is never a pretty thing, it's complicated, heart-breaking, and an emotional and often financial drain, but I don't think that while a person has breath that they are to ever willingly end it before God's time for them. I know others hold their own beliefs and thoughts, but this is my blog and I'll post things as I see is important.
Again, this post is simply my pointing out that I'm proud for these health-care professionals in my state. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for what you believe is right, and stand up they are! I see this as a blessing and an answer to prayer. I hope and pray these places and individuals will be able to maintain their resolve for human life and upholding their oath to preserve it in every way they can.
