A Perplexing Journey

I blog about; life with my loving husband, & our cats Siggy, and Maddie. Stuff in the news, my crafts, memes, photo posts & various other things that catch my fancy. I really like working at home, my husband appreciates my roll as housewife, and I find it my most rewarding job yet. We still hope to have children, though we still don't have any yet.

I wish it was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

I think tomorrow I might bake some candy cane sugar cookies. There's nothing like whacking the heck out of a bag full of candy canes, making the cookies in a cane shape, and topping with the sweet and peppery crushed canes. But we'll see if I'm any better off tomorrow. Last night I got stuck on the toilet when I went in the middle of the night. Stumbling in, I was so mostly asleep, that I didn't realize just how completely stiff I was, and when I sat down I knew I needed help. I cried softly asking Kevin to wake up and help. It was so humiliating. We both had a tough time sleeping after that. But I'm glad he got up to get me my cane and help, I just wished I had known my limits before I sat down. He said he'd install the handrails for me very soon, I think he felt really bad for me.

I've been wanting to make the place feel more festive. I moved around some garland to make it more noticeable, and I put the nativity scene up. But we're waiting until the 15th to buy a rosemary bush (shaped as a Christmas tree) and the wait is torture to me. I'm normally one to start decorating on Thanksgiving, but I've been too limited in my funds and mobility to do all that much just yet.

I've designed a background for my blog. Making it with Christmas colors and a funky feel, maybe that'll make me feel more in the spirit of Christmas. It's not really in the house, but at least when I'm on the computer, decorating doesn't feel like such an ordeal.

Does anyone want to come over on the 15th to help decorate? Kevin has the day off and I'm hoping to do more decorating then. It'd be great if we had a couple people over to join in the fun with us. There'll be cookies, hot cider, and music, and fun!

I hope everyone is enjoying their time of preparing for Christmas, keeping mindful of what it is that we are celebrating. The birth of the Lord, Jesus.

So sorry you are feeling so bad. A few Christmas decorations might help lift your spirits.
I got this catalog in the mail called Plow and Hearth. Two items in there made me think of you! Go to the web site and look at item # 62695 and #82479. I saw them and said, "Oh, Crystal would love those." LOL! Hope you are feeling a little better soon.

Oh Sondra, those Hedgies are so cute! I love them! I actually have a few ornaments like the brush one, but Siggy tried to eat it when I had it on the tree last year, so it stays up high on my Hedgehog shelf.

I'm feeling a tiny bit better today, but still a lot of throat and lung junk.
