The challenge this week for the Wednesday Stamper challenge was to make something with fish. It was a real challenge for me. I keep a fish tank and that is about it for me and fish. I'm allergic to most fish so I just don't eat seafood. And aside from my tiny little tank I don't notice fish much.
Recently the city of Sultan posted a bulletin to the residents that the Pink Salmon are returning up stream this year, so the
invitation was sent out to watch the event. Kevin and I are really thinking about going. It was fun a couple years ago when we watched the fish so we look forward to it this year too.
So keeping in mind the event I decided to make my ATC/stamp project a bit of a science lesson too. Or at least an adornment for the page I make after our outing to see the fish.
I used images of pink salmon found on Google, as well as the image of the state of which I altered heavily. I used a wave pattern stamp from
"Fun with Pattern" by Fifi Weinert for the ocean, and a "We've moved" text stamp from
A muse Artstamps. I also used Pentel markers and Prang colored pencils to colorize things. And of course it wouldn't be a creation of mine without a star brad and word stickers of various kinds... I think it's funky. The rays on the sun I made out of sticker scraps. I'm pretty proud of that little bit of creativity. I had originally used a generic sun stamp, but I didn't think in popped enough on the card and I liked the sticker created one much better. Though if you look on the right side of the sun just so you can still see some of the stamp too.
So there you have it. My contribution for this weeks Wednesday Stamper.
