Just a quick update.

The outpouring of love and support I got both on here and on Facebook, as well as at church in regards to my last post has been truly encouraging. A big thank you to everyone who is stepping forward and helping out.

As an update. I have been on anti-depressants, as a treatment for fibromyalgia, for about a week and a half. Kevin has noticed a big difference in my ability to do things and said he's heard less comments about pain and stiffness. I'm still dealing with a lot. And seems like I'm dealing with more cramps. Particularly in my feet and knees. But overall I do think I'm fairing a bit better.

Over the holiday weekend Kevin and I worked in the front yard and got most of the berry bramble chopped down. We have a mountain of bramble in the middle of the yard now. There is still much yard-work that needs to be done, but that was a huge part of it all. I felt very accomplished because I worked along side Kevin for much of the time!

On an almost completely different topic, the following link takes you to a video from AccuWeather that debunks global warming (in California wildfires.) and actually shows that we're in a trend of cooling for the next couple decades. I know I've changed this blog to be about illness and faith, but this is one topic that still seems relevant to me here since weather greatly effects my symptoms. Winter months are often rough for me. And if this does play out, as Farmers Almanac also claims, it'll mean that I need to plan ahead better for the foreseeable future as to how to stay warm, and what I need to do to manage pain.

I think that's about it. I am looking at the info about global cooling and more snowy winters here in the PNW as a cautionary warning but not something I'll be really alarmed about. I have hope that this new diagnosis and new treatment will help me cope better this winter than in the last couple winters. Even still, I think I may need to invest in an electric blanket this winter! ;0)

Reposting: NASA Study Makes 'Amazing' Discovery: Sun Heats Earth

Read this: 'NASA Study Makes 'Amazing' Discovery: Sun Heats Earth'

This is great. It's what those of us who are willing to look at the whole picture and are aware that the earth has seasons not just 4 times a year, but of decades and centuries too have already known.

I love that NASA put this out, maybe it will get more press & people's attention. It seems like when Farmer's Almanac has made similar articles it doesn't get the press it deserves.

Man made global warming is nothing more than political fear-mongering!

The theory of relational cycles.

OK, so I was very excited to find this link because I learned from a weather reporter about this once but was having a hard time finding the info. Basically just like the sun gives us cycles of Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, the sun also gives us cycles on a centennial cycle that has warmer times and cooler times. This info says that we are not heading towards global warming, but global cooling. Which follows a lot more with the science from the 80's about when a next ice age could occur more so then the current POLITICAL trend of talking about global warming.

If you have a chance to check it out, I think it's worth a look through. Remember in the 1800's the river Thames would always freeze up, and it hasn't done that in decades, but if things like this are right, we may soon see the river (and other places like it) freeze up again.

Global warming stuff

I'm too lazy to come up with anything catchy for this, just thought this was a good post.

WHY?

WHY did Al Gore and the UN group get the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE? So many Scientists say this isn't real science so why is it getting such high honors!?

I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS!

I had hoped to see Czech President Klaus speak to the UN, but somehow I missed it, I'm not sure if it was on TV or not, but at least he posted his talking points so now I'm trying to catch up.

Poo-pooing global warming!

First of all, we found this video to be very interesting. While it cuts off at the end it is super supportive and informative.

Global warming scam

(Kevin and I both worked on writing this.)

People really need to think, learn and judge for themselves. An ex-vice-president confused about "inventing the internet" and with a sore-loser complex is not the first person I would go to for advice about weather, science, and the life expectancy of this earth.

Back in school I remember that the big concern was that we were headed to a new ice age, and we'd all be frozen to non-existence. That obviously didn't continue, so I guess groups and politicians had to drum up a new concern to control the masses (for their own good, of course).

A much more logical theory is that - much like years have seasons - centuries also have seasons, and we're simply in a warmer phase right now. (Though that still doesn't explain how we had nearly 2 feet of snow this winter, plus an extra snow in mid-April...)

Here's a book that looks to support this theory (I can't say for certain because I haven't picked it up yet)...

Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years
by Dennis T. Avery And S. Fred Singer

As I heard one weatherman report, there is some science to warming and freezing, but the dire warnings the politicians want us to heed are at best over-dramatic. There is plenty of "analysis", but they are basing it on only about 50 years of continuous weather tracking. (Yes, people have recorded temperatures for much longer, but the ability to automatically and continuously record data is much newer. God bless technology! ;-)

Also, when the fear-mongers say "a large number of scientists say that global warming is a real and imminent threat", they are usually referring to members of a single UN committee. The global warming camp would like you to believe that this committee is diverse and academic, but they are not. Yes, some (but not all) are scientists, but they are often just representatives of the interests of their respective countries. Ever notice how the Kyoto Protocol doesn't require third world countries to comply with environmental restrictions? Do you believe other countries are unaware of how they will profit if the US businesses are heavily restricted (and they are not)?

The fact is, the majority of real scientists - that is, those actively performing research in legitimate facilities such as universities and businesses - discredit "the sky is falling" attitude. It is well known that most climate, ozone, and soil pH changes are due to natural processes of the earth. Each year, for example, volcanos deplete far more of the ozone layer than humans ever have, even in the years before ozone-depleting propellants were banned.

In closing, yes, it's hot right now, but hey, it's summer. Temperatures are never identical each year, so while it may warm for a few more years, it may not be long before another cooling trend, either. And yet somehow before all this "data", the human race has managed to survive for thousands of years...
