5's

Anne tagged me for a meme post so here I go! (I secretly love these things, it's silly, but I enjoy them every time I'm tagged!)

SO here are the rules:

Each player answers the five questions about themselves.
At the end of the post, the player tags five more people, posts their names and then goes to their respective blogs where they must leave a comment letting them know that they have been tagged to play along.

What was I doing ten years ago?
1. Sever case of senioritis... yes, this year is my 10 year anniversary since my H.S. graduation.
2. Debating about leaving First Christian Church, Redwood City.
3. Only applying to one college and getting in. I was accepted to San Jose Christian College. I have no idea what I would have done, or where I would have gone had I not got in.
4. Scrap-booking like crazy. I had so much free time my senior year of HS, I think it was the last time I actually completed albums the years the photos were taken!
5. Went to Europe with my family and boyfriend. I kept begging him to propose to me on the Charles bridge in Prague (Yes, we had been talking marriage then, but it still wasn't formal planned yet.) Kevin had me convinced he had something else in mind, but when we were almost all the way across the bridge he got down to "tie his shoes" and proposed to me!

Five things currently on my to-do list
1. Clean every room of the house
2. Finish outstanding swaps I really should send already.
3. Buy prenatal vitamins
4. Pack for Kevin's business trip next week.
5. Make the aprons for Grandma that she requested.

Five snacks I enjoy
1. Taquitos
2. Nacho corn chips (not Dorito's so much.)
3. Corn chips with salsa!
4. Cheese
5. bananas, or fruit in general really.

Five things I would do if I was a billionaire
1. Give a bunch away to different charities / organizations / and missionaries I believe in, and family.
2. Buy Mica a vehicle.
3. Buy Kevin and I new clothes and shoes, and restock our kitchen... all the things we're doing without but still need. As well as
splurge on wish-list items, the Amazon list is crazy long since we just don't buy extras it just keeps growing.
4. Pay off credit debt, and the house. Maybe buy another property... YES! I want a cabin in Mount Index area!
5. Invest for retirement/ kids, etc.

Five of my bad habits
1. Hating the telephone so much I never call anyone.
2. Zoning out with the TV on.
3. Blogging/chatting on-line when I should be sleeping.
4. Signing up for swaps when I can't really afford the postage and shouldn't be signing up for swaps, so instead I use grocery money to pay for swaps.
5. Not eating until I'm beyond hungry because I just don't want to stand in the kitchen when my back hurts.

Five places I have lived
1. Tacoma, WA
2. Redwood City, CA
3. Thornton, CO
4. San Jose, CA
5. Bothell, WA

Five jobs that I have had
1. Baby sitter/house sitter/ dog sitter
2. Receptionist
3. Nanny (more responsibility then #1.)
4. Retails sales/key-holder/Tupperware consultant/Professional crafter.

Swap-Bot Tag

Cotton Picker tagged her readers who also have swap-bot profiles to answer the following five questions about their experience with Swap-Bot, so here I goes:

What was your first swap?

Beelicious' Halloween Apron swap.

Swap-bot swap: Halloween Apron Swap!

What has been your favorite swap so far and why?

There have been a few that have been favorites.
Some simple ATC swaps the senders have been very generous on sending me other things they'd know from my profile I'd like. Recent favorite is the Matryoshka Doll swap that I'm still working on. But what I got, I'm going to blog it soon... she made me such a sweet little doll, all celestial and everything. And back at Christmas was another great swap. I've also loved getting to know some people there and having 1 on 1 swaps... I think I like those the best.

What has been you're least favorite swap?

The ones I've been flaked on or the person sending didn't put much effort into it. It seems like I'm not getting my package from the crafty odds and ends swap, basically that one was one were you take a flat rate mailer box and stuff it full of craft stuff you haven't used but it's still good to use so maybe someone else can use it. I was looking forward to that swap. And there was a celestial swap I've been flaked on, that's a major bummer. But for swaps I've received that I haven't really been thrilled with, well there were a few sticker swaps I was in and I never got very nice stickers in return, most of them were too old to be useful, but too new to consider vintage, basically I got junk. Some of the stickers I just went and threw in the trash because they smelled so badly of cigarette smoke!

What have you tried for the first time as part of a swap?

Pretty much everything I've done on swap-bot has been things I've done otherwise. I made a pot-holder as a new sewer for a swap, but I had also made several for Christmas presents this year too. A few posts back I made a button fairy for a challenge blog, and with how well I liked how it turned out I guess I'll join some swaps for those too over time. But so far I haven't been that adventurous. I am signed up for some felt stuffies swaps in the summer, but I don't think that will be too much different from my sock critters. I tend to try new things for the challenge blogs...

What would be your fantasy swap?

I'm pretty easy. I love anything celestial. I've been in one swap for that so far, and it's been a bummer that I still don't have that package. But I've signed up for another celestial swap. Maybe in the summer I'll make my version of a celestial swap.

I don't know too many people outside of swap-bot so if you're reading this, are one of my readers and on swap-bot let me know in the comments here. And hey, let me know your swap-bot profile address. Mine is on my sidebar.

Survey of our marriage.

How long have you been married?
It'll be 8 years in June.

Is this your first marriage?
yup

Is it how you imagined it would be?
yes, except for the no kids yet part.

What would you change?
Just our childlessness.

Are you married to your soul-mate?
yes, God meant him for me, and I for him.

What do you argue about the most?
No one thing, but normally it's little misunderstandings.

What do you see eye to eye on the most?
Faith, politics, and morals

Where did you meet your spouse?
at church...

Where was your first date?
Um, dates? We normally hung out with the rest of the youth group, or went to parks to talk, simple little things that are all one big wonderful memory now.

Where were you when you became engaged?
On the Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic.

Did you live together before Marriage?
sort of no, sort of yes. I had the keys to our condo and practically every bit of my possessions there a few months before the wedding, though my address then was still my parents condo that I was caring for until they moved in, right after our wedding.

What was your wedding song?
We didn't have just one song...

Who was in your wedding party? Long list! Liz D., Evie M., Laura D(now H), Linnae, Jessica F., B.J., Nate, Bruce, Brice, Mark

Do you get along with the in-laws?
yeah!

What's your view on Children?
Our hearts ache that we don't have kids yet. We never thought we'd be this far into marriage without children.

Does your spouse feel the same way?
Absolutely!!!!

Are you a 2 peas in a pod or oppsites attract couple?
mostly 2 peas in a pod, and where we are opposites complement each other.

Do you go out without your spouse?
You mean like to the grocery store or a doctors appointment? Um, weird question. I wouldn't like go out with another guy without him there, what would be the point!?

How long are you away from your spouse before you start to miss him/her?
If he's at work I'm pretty OK, but when he went on a business trip without me it was torture!

Have you ever compared your spouse to someone you have dated in the past?
Nope.

Do you trust your Spouse?
Without question!

Does your Spouse trust you?
I would hope he feels the same.

How well do you know your spouses favorites?
Considering we love a great many number of the same things this is pretty easy.

How well does your spouse know your favorites?
He knows all the things we have in common, but sometimes my interests still surprise him.

Do you get along with your spouses friends?
We don't really have friends that aren't friends of the others.

Does your spouse get along with your friends?
see above.

Did you go on a honeymoon?
Yes, we drove up the Pacific coast, to Seattle and then back down to San Jose. And then on to Reno, NV area for Nate's wedding.

Do you watch the same TV shows?
I log a LOT more hours of TV being a housewife, but when he's home we normally can agree on what to watch.

Can you agree on Pizza toppings?
usually. We have our favorites. But sometimes I want tons of meat, or tons of veggies at times when he wants the opposite.

Who takes out the trash?
he does

Who does laundry?
both

Who cooks dinner?
Me, but with how hard this winter has been I've done more stupervising of dinner while he cooks. I just haven't been able to stand very long this winter.

Who is the first one to wake up in the morning?
usually him, though lately me.

Do you have any traditions?
Sure, they're special.

Is there anyone in your spouses family that you cant stand?
What a rude question, and no.

Anyone in your spouses family you adore?
His nephew and neices.

Do you know your spouses passwords/pins?
Sure do.

Does your spouse know your social security number?
We both have each others memorized.

Do you ever nag your spouse?
of course, every healthy marriage has some nagging!

Do you admit wrong doing?
No one likes to, but every healthy relationship must.

Does your spouse?
yes

When is the last time you or your spouse bought each other flowers?
Kevin got me flowers back in August for my birthday. I dried the buds and turned them into potpourri, they still sit in our guest bath.

10

Dana tagged me to post 10 random or unique things about me, so here I go.

1.) I knew in High-school that I was going to marry Kevin and spend the rest of my life with him. I was such a non-teen. While others were dating, I was courting.

2.) My cat's name is Sigmund Freud Wilson because I adopted him to stay sane after Tony Cat passed away. For anyone not familiar with Freud, he is thought by many to be a forefather of Psychology.

3.) Growing up my dreams of what I wanted to be when I grew up was constantly changing. But through it all, one dream has always remained true, and that's to be a wife & mother, I'm halfway there.

4.) I'm proud to be a housewife, I believe the woman's place is in the home. I'm very anti-feminism. I believe there is a reason women in general have nurturing souls.

5.) I'm registered Republican so I can vote in primaries, though my political views much more fall in line with Constitution Party/American Independent. I was registered American Independent when we lived in California.

6.) This year is 10 years since high-school for me. Since I went to three different schools for my 4 years of high-school I don't really have any desire to go to a reunion... I wouldn't know which school's to go for and there is no way I could afford to go to all three.

7.) My class ring is not for the school I graduated from, but the first high-school I went to. I still wished that had been where I graduated, I would have graduated early and with college credit, as it was moving to California really made my study skills lax.

8.) I'm obsessive about profiles. Now that I don't constantly change this profile, I've started constantly changing my swap-bot profile. I love swap-bot Loads of fun!

9.) I have multiple chronic illnesses. It's horrible. I'm 28 and have Rheumatoid arthritis, Poly Cystic Ovary syndrome (our infertility), loads of allergies, asthma, eczema, dysthimia (depression), and an undiagnosed reason for chronic insomnia probably related to all of the above and all the meds and vits I take for all of the above. I have one shoe-box full for meds, and one full for vits.

10.) I daily pray for guidance, wisdom and understanding, for God to reveal to Kevin and I His plans for how He intends for us to grow our family.

I'm feeling distractible, so I tag whoever reads this and feels like doing it.

Goodbye 2007!

1-Did you kiss anyone?
Yes

2-Did you date anyone?
Yes, my husband.

3-Are you going to have someone to kiss when the ball drops?
If we stay awake. Only 20 more minutes so we probably will.

4-Did you lose any friends?
I let go of keeping up with some acquaintances...

5-Did you gain any friends?
Yes, and I'm blessed by it!

6-Did you do something new?
Lots of little things.

7-Did anyone important to you die?
:-( Yes, my cat Tony.

8-Did you change?
If I didn't, wouldn't that be strange?

9-Are you happy with the year over all?
Meh...

10-What's the best thing that happened to you?
Adopting Siggy, spending time with my dearest friends, Tracy and Gavin visiting in the summer.

11-Did you fall in or out of love?
I fall more and more in love with Kevin everyday!

12-Are you happy the year's almost over?
Well, I'm really ready for things to change, so I guess so!

13-Are you going to change something about yourself next year?
personal, people who need to know, know this answer.

14-Do you think 2008 will be a better year than 2007?
I sure hope so!

15-Did you lose your virginity in 2007?
Um, I don't think I need to answer this, sometimes I get really turned off by some of these survey questions. If you really need anything more of an answer let me remind you that I've been married for 7 and a half wonderful years!

16-How many things did you screw up in 2007?
How 'bout I just mention the most recent which was my kitchen fire. To make a list would just be depressing.

17-Did you go to an amusement park?
Um, we went to the space needle when Gavin and Tracy where here, but we didn't really do much of the amusement park stuff. Just a couple kiddy rides for Gav.

18-Did you go to a concert?
No... being poor makes for a very boring life. Well, there was that concert in the park thing...

19-Did you go to any parties?
Just meals with friends, which is wonderful and plenty for us. Some friends from church had a party of Christmas eve, we enjoyed that I guess. Fortunately that was very laid back, and good company.

20-Did you go on a summer vacation?
Yes, we drove down to Portland, OR for the Rose Festival, it was loads of fun. It was also our 7th anniversary. Kevin's parents came up and met up with us and joined in some of the time too. We were rained on and got cold, wet, and I got the absolute worst blisters on my feet ever from walking in wet shoes and limping with my cane. But we enjoyed ourselves. I wish we could get away more often.

21-Did you lie to your parents?
No, why would I?

22-Did you get into a fight?
No, again, why would I?

23-Did you leave the country?
Nope, haven't been out of the country in years.

24-Did you have a good birthday?
No, it was a couple weeks after Tony Cat passed away, I was sad and depressed. I started back on Prozac and that has helped some, but there are other things that make me need it beyond that. I had wanted to go to the mountains to camp, but no one could come with us, and I had spent everything we could (and then some) trying to keep Tony healthy before he passed away, so we just couldn't afford it. Kevin was sweet though. He bought me my favorite roses (fire and ice) and took me to lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Because it was the middle of the day in the middle of the week the place was empty and it was peaceful to eat together in a restaurant just to us.

25-Did anyone in your family get married?
I heard one of my cousins did...

26. Do you think you grew up?
More and more every day.

27-Did you dye your hair?
In the summer I tend to play with my hair... And it's a good thing I have a hairdresser for an aunt! I had lots of different colored highlights, but my hair is back to it's natural dark brown. I hope to dye it black/blue again, it's my favorite hair-color by Ferria, but I hate having to buy color since Aunt Sandy colors for me for free!

28-Who do you think you were on the phone with the most?
My mom calls a lot, probably her.

29-Did anyone sing to you?
With me, but not really to me.

30-Did you sing to anyone?
I love to sing at church every sunday.
.
31-Did anyone tell you they loved you?
Yes, and it means so much to me.

32-Did you ever go to the hospital?
Not this year, but maybe I will in the new year, something has got to improve with my mobility.

33-What did you drink and eat the most?
Eat - these days, mostly whatever I can help Kevin make, since I can't stand in the kitchen much lately. Drink, as always, ice water.

34-Did you change your top friends at least 8 times?
(I guess this is a myspace question...) Um, a couple times, when I was able to add a few people, but not lots, I don't think 8 times.

35-Did you change your profile over 10 times?
Yeah. Probably. I'm constantly battling with keeping my profile me, but not making it too long, it never works, it's long! So is my swap-bot profile. Amazingly my Blogger profile is pretty concise, but that's probably because I spend all my time here editing my blog itself.

36-Did you change your default at least 20 times?
I think it was just a few times, I just haven't had that many pictures of me this year.

37-Did you get a tattoo?
Nope, DLH won't permit it. And I respect my husbands wish, even though I'd still love some ink.

38-Did you vote?
ABSOLUTELY!

39-Are you going to make a new years resolution?
Not in the traditional sense.

40-Did you stick to your new years resolution from last year?
I don't typically make new years resolutions. Last year it was to read more, and I'd say I have, though I still have the bad habit of picking up tons of books and taking forever to finish something because my nose is in so many different places. Plus I tend to read things you don't have to read cover to cover, like cookbooks. And nope, ours still isn't finished. Waiting on DLH to get through the editing.

Food - Meme

Maybe this will get my butt in gear to finally finish my cookbook!

1. How do you like your eggs?

Omelette, scrambled, boiled or over hard.

2. How do you take your coffee/tea?

I rarely have coffee unless I'm super tired... walking asleep zombie woman. If I do have a coffee I usually prefer it be a blended frappe.
I love black teas... really can go for pretty much any tea except green teas.
I love adding cream and splenda to my tea.

3. Favorite breakfast food?

Breakfast taquitos with eggs and bacon. Mmm, me loves bacon!

4. Peanut butter - smooth or crunchy?

Depends on the butter, jelly spread, etc that I'd have it with, and the type of bread. If the bread and spread has lots of texture then I prefer creamy.

5. What kind of dressing on your salad?
Depends on the salad. But always homemade. I don't buy store bought dressing anymore. Too much soy, and other bad things. Plus home made just has a better, fresher taste, and is healthier for your.

6. Coke or Pepsi?
Ice water, really. I hate soda. Only every crave the occasional root-beer.

7. You’re feeling lazy, what do you make?

Stuffing, dinner sausage, and peas. Or if I'm feeling really lazy I tell Kevin how to make that, or we order out.

8. You’re feeling really lazy. What kind of pizza do you order?

Taco Grande from Papa Murphy's, or Smokehouse chicken and suasage from Round Table, both thin/skinny crust.

9. You feel like cooking. What do you make?

When I really feel like cooking I make homemade meatballs for spaghetti, or I'll make dumplings and gravy, or a big pot of everything soup.

10. Do any foods bring back good memories?

Much of this is going in the cookbook. I love so many of my recipes I've gotten from my grandmothers.

11. Do any foods bring back bad memories?

Salmon. The only time I had it was at my first grade Thanksgiving party. I was so sick that night. It was when I first learned I was allergic to fish. I have to avoid seafood at all costs or my stomach cramps horribly and I get sick.

12. Is there a food you refuse to eat?

Seafood because it makes me sick, it is probably really the only thing. And I don't really have a desire to ever eat bugs.

13. What was your favorite food as a child?

String cheese, oranges, grilled cheese sandwiches, soups... that's pretty much still true.

14. Is there a food that you hated as a child but now like?

I don’t remember being a picky eater ever. I know that there was a while where I couldn't eat stuffing because I had been eating some while watching TV and the show was a science program showing a group dissecting a cow eye. I got creeped out because of onions in stuffing seeming like the layers of the eyeball. It was very sad too because I've always LOVED stuffing, eventually I got over it, but for a while I kept thinking of that cow eyeball any time I'd have stuffing offered to me.

15. Is there a food that you liked as a child but now hate?

Tuna-fish casserole, I used to be able to eat that before my fish allergy fully developed. I remember though that I mostly liked it because of the cheese and noodles, so a simular dish with chicken is much more favored. But I can't stand it with chunked chicken from a can. The preservatives are too much for me.

16. Favorite fruit and vegetable?

Fruit — Oranges, especially clementine cuties, bananas, golden delicious apples, asian pears, sweet cherries, and fresh plumbs and peaches.
Vegetables — Peas, mixed veggies, onions, lima beans, asparagus, artichokes, most types of salads.

17. Favorite junk food?

Cheesy and crunchy. Tacos, chips, etc.

18. Favorite between meal snack?

Taquitos, string cheese, yogurt. (need to get more too)

19. Do you have any weird food habits?

When I eat an orange I eat it very slowly because I love the texture of orange pulp and the burst of juice when you bite into it.

20. You’re on a diet. What food(s) do you fill up on?

Chicken and salad.

21 . You’re off your diet. Now what would you like?

Warm, belly filling comfort foods. like meat and potatoes or sausage and stuffing.

22. How spicy do you order Indian/Thai?

On a scale of one to five, five being fire alarm hot, I'd say about 3.

23. Can I get you a drink?

Sure... I'll have iced tea with lemon, or I'm even fine with just ice water.

24. Red wine or white?

White, and sweet.

25. Favorite dessert?

Grandma's pumpkin or apple pie.

26. The perfect nightcap?

Hot cocoa with irish cream.

I've been tagged by Andrea!

''Here are the rules which you must abide by if you are tagged.1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.''

7 facts about me:

1. After I moved to CA in 89 I missed the rain and cooler weather. The first summer there I had horrible heat stroke. Eventually my husband and I moved to Washington (back for me) and I've just been so happy to be back! (except I still don't like summer)

2. I have a fear of heights, though I'm fine with flying... Go figure.

3. I love Chinese food, but have to be very careful about where I get it because I have a sensitivity to MSG. I have to avoid MSG or I get migraines.

4. I don't like any designer handbags because I like my bags to be unique, the only "brand" I willingly carry is Wilson's Leather. Otherwise I like handmade bag or finding less popular bags in clearances.

5. I wanted to be a child psychologist, but when I went to college and got married that desire changed to wanting to be a housewife. I still love to study counseling and hope this is something that will make me a good mother someday. (part b to this factoid is that even though I went to college to study counseling that was only my ministry core (think minor, but not on diploma), my degree ended up being in Theology.)

6. Because we can't afford to adopt just yet I've been thinking about fostering cats. There are so many crowded rescues. While I was sad to loose my cat Tony this summer, it was a real blessing to adopt Siggy.

7. I'm starting to wonder if I've made more blog posts than anyone can keep up with recently.

I tag Mica, Laura H., Laura G., Jennifer L, Chrissy, Rhonda, and Trish.

random, different, me

1. Aside from Driver's Ed, who really taught you how to drive?:
Watching my dad, though now Kevin tells me I drive like my dad, a bit aggressive. But in all my years of driving I've only had one accident, it was a hit and run so I wasn't at fault. Stupid faceless stoner! And I've never had any moving violation tickets.

2. What's the one thing you love/miss about your Grandma's cooking?:
I'm blessed to still have both my grandmas, I love everything about their cooking. The care that goes into the ingredients, the time it takes to prepare a well made meal. The recipes that both sides have passed on to me and I'm now including in my upcoming cookbook! I think the best from Grandma K is her dumplings and any gravy, soup or sauce she decides to pair with it. And with my Grandma Juett her deep fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Interestingly enough I'm not a big gravy person, and my grandmothers make completely different kinds, but theirs both, I LOVE!

3. If you had money to burn, what 3 charities would you donate to?:
Pregnancy Crisis centers, Antioch adoptions/Bethany adoptions, and all my missionary friends from churches and schools I've been to.

4. What "Late Night Radio" song would you request to your man/woman?:
Any song that is important to us generally isn't played on late night radio, plus only I would be up to hear it.

Well, he was already gone a few years before I was born, but everyone was still talking about Elvis.

My dad listens to country, western and jazz, still does. My mom as a nanny listens to lots preschool songs. But both have always like groups like First Call, Sandi Patti and so on.

8. Name 2 historic events that have happened in your lifetime.:
Fall of the berlin wall, and the start of the internet in home use world wide.

9. Who taught you to tie your shoes?:
Myself. I watched anyone who wanted to show me, but I didn't figure it out until I kept playing at it by myself and figuring it out by doing it, and trying again.

10. Where did you go on your first "official" date?:
Hmm, I have to think about before Kevin for this one, that's kind of hard... I think David and I went roller-skating. We went as a couple almost every week, but those were still group events with the youth group.

11. When you "cruised the strip"...who were you usually with?:
I never "cruised the strip."

12. Who was like your "second Mom" or "second Dad"?:
Liz Dunlap, hands down. She was one of my two matrons of honor in our wedding. She calls us her kids and I try to send her a mothers day card as well every year. She's been there for me like no one else has or could.

13. Who is your Strangest Relative and why?:
I plead the 5th, there is too much that could happen from answering this question.

14. What's your typical ice cream order at Dairy Queen?:

Why would I have an opinion on this?!

24. Disneyland, Disneyworld, or Universal Studios?:
Well, I've only ever been to Disneyland, but I'd love to visit all!

25. Halloween or Christmas?:
Christmas, and because of Jesus, not because of gifts.

26. Leading or Following?:
Neither, being my own person, sometimes one, sometimes the other. But always hoping to be following what God wants of me, not what any person wants of me.

36. Song to sing in the shower?:
Whatever is on the shower radio that I can sing along with, or whatever is stuck in my head.

37. Bill that you have to pay?:
We're talking favorites? Who in their right mind has a favorite bill? Maybe a one time bill of paying for a favorite wish list item I've been waiting for, but I don't cherish my credit card bills or paying the house payment. I'm grateful to have a house, just not grateful to have a mortgage.

38. Cuss word?:
Pass

39. Era to read about or watch a movie in?:
Renaissance, Pioneer, 1800's, Early church, and modern. I also love pretty much any pop movie made in the 60's!

My hubby, because I want to be just who he needs me to be and to know everything about him.

45. If you could have coffee with 3 people, living or dead, who would they be?:
My grandma Baker because she died when I was 4 before I ever could really get to know her. Condi Rice, because I think she is a very intelligent and connected person, and I wish I had more time to spend with my Grandpa Juett before he passed away. I'm sure I'll have my chance in heaven though.

Housewife survey

1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?
Dove moisturizing body wash in our bath. Generic fruit bubble bath in the guest bath.

2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?
No! I used to love it as a kid, but now I don't really care for it, and Kevin never liked it so we just don't buy it.

3. Is there anything moldy in your refrigerator?
Possibly, the fridge is pretty full right now, but I did try to clear things out before I went shopping.

4. Are there any dirty dishes in your sink?
yes, and on the counter, and on the dinner table... I'm really bad about doing dishes. We'd probably be healthier if I was better about it. Now I feel ashamed and dirty.

5. What would you change about your living room?
Take out the carpet and put in hardwood, paint the walls because I'm sick and tired of white, generally pick up the clutter.

6. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
Dirty, I may not like doing dishes, but when they're clean I tend to put them away right away because otherwise I'll never catch up.

7. Do you have a can of mushrooms in your pantry?
It's one of Kevin's favorite so yes, I buy the cans by the case at Costco.

8. White or wheat bread?
Wheat

9. What is on top of your refrigerator?
My lock box, cat treats, old candy, and a bottle of Tequila.

10. What color is your sofa?
black leather, but currently covered with a celestial print (blue) sheet.

11. What color or design is on your shower curtain?
Guest bath has a dark blue curtain that has like lightning bolts on it. And in our bath is a glass door which I hate. When I can afford it I hope to get one of those curved curtain rods and have a pale colored bamboo theme printed curtain to go along with my Japanese theme bathroom.

12. How many plants are in your home?
Do I need to go around and count? I do have a bit of a green thumb so I have a fair amount of house plants. Probably 5 or so in the dining-room and another 6 or so in the kitchen.

13. How many candles are in your home?
to many to count.. Making candles is a strong winter time hobby of mine. I never throw away wax because they just go into the next candles being made. I'll even accept scraps of candles and pick up half used candles at garage sales if the scent isn't repulsive.

14. Is your bed made right now?
No, Never. I'm always the last to get out of bed so it's my fault. I just hate making a bed when In 16 hours or so I'm just gunna muss it up all over again.

15. If you have a coffee pot, what color is it?
The coffee pot is black, we also have a coffee maker that is for tea and that's Cobalt Blue.

16. Electric or standard can opener?
We got two standard style can openers. One is a Swing-away and the other is Tupperware. The Tupperware one is cool because it cuts from the side so there are no sharp edges and you can put the lid back on the can.

27. Comet or Soft Scrub?
both

28. Is your closet organized?
Somewhat.

29. What color is the flashlight that you use the most?
Black and silver

30. What kinds of things are in your junk drawer?
Don't have one. Now the unopened boxes from our various moves is another matter... mostly old paperwork

31. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
Probably plastic. I am a Tupperware consultant and have so many Tupperware plastic cups. I do have glasses as well. I still prefer glass when I want something to stay colder longer, like beer or ice water.

32. Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?
no, but I like to, I just don't have the fridge space right now.

33. If you have a garage, is it cluttered?
We have a huge garden shed that could probably hold a motorcycle, but not quite big enough to hold a car. It's not really cluttered. There are a few boxes that need to be put on shelves, but there are boxes of yard sale items in the shelves. I'll have a very clean shed once we have a yard
sale.

34. Curtains or blinds?
both

35. How many pillows do you sleep with?
3, and Kevin uses 1.

36. Do you sleep with any lights on at night?
nope we like the dark, though our alarm clocks give off a lot of light.

37. How many ceiling fans are in your home?
1

38. How often do you vacuum?
depends on how messy things have gotten, but at least once a month.

39. Standard toothbrush or electric?
electric, standard on vacations.

40. What color is your toothbrush?
grey and blue

41. Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?
Um, at the side door yes, because we use that door more, but not at the front door. Someday, when money isn't so tight.

42. What is in your oven right now?
nothing

43. Is your microwave clean or dirty?
Slightly dirty, but it's too high for me to clean so it's Kevin's responsibility.

44. Is there anything under your bed?
Out of season bedding (right now the heavy blankets, etc.), some shoes, and some stuff that's storage of Kevin's like CD's and electronics.

45. Chore you hate doing the most?
dishes

46. What retro items are in your home?
I have some posters and tins in the kitchen, my stand mixer is new, but retro styled. I'd love a completely retro themed kitchen someday. I also have a fair amount of Moravian pottery, Moravian dolls, and some dishes.

47. Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?
yes, the third bedroom is the office, and we usually have a futon in here too making it the guest room. Currently it's in the baby room because that's where my last guests stayed (needed it baby/toddler proof.)

48. If you have a yard, who mows it?
Yes, Kevin should mow it. Thanks for reminding me to nag him! ;-)

49. Is there anything on your kitchen floor right now?
Rugs, dirt, cat treats, & cat toys.

50. How many mirrors are in your home?
Um, lemme do a mental count. One in each bathroom, and the full length I still need to hang, so three, and I have a few hand mirrors too.

51. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?
That would be so smart, but no.

52. What color are your walls?
White, every room is white! And I hate it. Oh, but the bathrooms and kitchen are wallpapered. I'm OK with the paper in my bathroom, but the paper in the guest bath drives me batty, and the paper in the kitchen just makes it look more cluttered so I'm going to paint it as soon as I can afford it.

53. Which rooms in your house have wallpaper?
Bathrooms and Kitchen

54. Do you have a peephole in your front door?
Yes, but unfortunately it's like a foot too high for me! I'll need a new hole sometime. For the most part I keep the front window open so I can see what's going on outside.

55. Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home?
Does a paint-ball gun with no gas count? Oh, I have my knives, but I'd like a gun someday.

56. What does your home smell like right now?
Air-wick Mango, and cats probably, but I've been a cat owner too long to notice anymore.

57. Fave candle scent?
Vanilla or mixed berry

58. What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?
Hot olives, sweet pickles, dill pickles, sweet relish, green olives, and pickled garlic olives

59. Who are in the pictures you displayed?
Friends and family

60. What color is your favorite bible?
Um, We have a bible shelf but I don't know that I have a favorite... maybe the Kinkade keepsake family bible my in-laws gave us a couple years back, it's kind of a reddish brown brick color.

61. Do you have plenty of cabinet space in your kitchen?
I can get by with it, but I wouldn't oppose more! I mean I am a kitchen tools collector and Tupperware consultant so I have quite the collection, and yes, it all gets used. If I ever were to become a Pampered Chef consultant too I for sure would need more space. I'm already storing almost two boxes of showcase Tupper in the shed.

62. Ever been on your roof?
Not this one yet.

62. Do you own a stereo?
yep

63. How many TVs do you have?
1, 2 if you include the computer monitor that we've watched movies on. 3 if you include the camp tv that we only use once maybe every three years.

solid for furniture, I add color and pattern with the decor like throw pillows and art and such.

68. Is there a smoke detector in your home?
yup, a few.

68. In case of fire, what are the items you would grab if you only could make one quick trip?
The fire safes (which have our negatives, photo CD's and important papers), the cats, and my purse, probably in that order too.

Kevin has an electrical engineering background. so yea, he can anyway.

I'm back on-line...

I'm back on-line. I just wanted to do something simple first. So here are some survey questions and a couple quizzes. I'll probably post photos from my trip in a few days...

Which Hackers Character Are You? Find out @ She's Crafty

Which Breakfast Clubber Are You? Find out @ She's Crafty

1. Is anyone mad at you?
Maybe my mom, since I supposedly didn't get along with my sister... which isn't entirely true either!

2. When was your last kiss?
This morning.

3. Who's the first person you'd call if you won the lottery?
I'd call my grandma because she'd be the reason. Unless she buys a ticket I never play. I still wouldn't but she finds them fun. Though this last time I saw her all she talked about was how all that ever happens is she sometimes breaks even and she's sick of playing now, so I don't think that'll even happen either.

4. Do you have a fish tank in your house?
Yup

5. What is your ringtone?
something preset. I haven't played around with my phone that much.

6. Do you delete people on MySpace when you're mad at them?
That seems so childish. I have made deletions, but that's mostly when I took off all the bands and such. There was one person who wanted to be my friend but turned out to be so self centered it was insane. I deleted that person since I didn't really know them.

7. What color is your pillowcase?
blue

8. Nearest green object?
a bracelet I made for St. Patty's day.

9. What color shirt are you wearing?
Celestial nighty

10. Who do you trust the most?
my husband

11. What color is your phone?
grey/silver

12. What's on your tv?
Fox News, when isn't that the case? And by the way... I've had serious news withdraw... My grandma has the absolute worst cable package, and half the channels would have better reception if they were caught from an antenna. Really it was that bad!

13. Do you forgive people easily?
If they hurt me intentionally or don't care about me no, but if it was something that was a mistake it's forgotten as soon as things are made right.

14. What did you do today?
I'm trying to catch up on missed messages and the bazillion blog posts from everyone. I really can't get away with not being on-line for two weeks! This is an insane task right now!

15. Last person to IM you?
Jason D.

16. Last person to comment you?
I received a few while I was off-line.

17. Who do you text the most?
my favorite cousin Tracy!

18. Could you find an umbrella in your house if you needed one?
Oh yes! Hey, I live in WA if we didn't keep good tabs on our umbrellas we'd have permanently wet hair. OK, so it isn't that bad, but I keep tabs on my bumbershoots like a Californian keeps tabs on their shades.

19. Last song you heard?
The iPod was on almost the whole trip home, but I can't remember what the last one was.

20. Want any tattoos you don't have?
See blog post...

21. Are you wearing a belt?
no

no

something from Tracy.

24. Last thing you broke?
a vase I was putting into the dishwasher.

25. Do you smoke?
I lost two uncles way too young because of their addictions to death sticks. Do you honestly think I'd want to go out like that? NO!

26. Last present you received?
A ton of chocolate for Easter, I don't even care about chocolate. I bought myself sweet-tarts afterwards... Grandma spoiled us too. She paid for our trip to CA, bought me a bar for my dining room, and a bunch of other things. While she was visiting she kept saying I needed different things and then would go out and buy it.

27. Anything on you hurt?
I live with Rheumatoid Arthritis, it's a very good day when nothing on my does hurt.

28. Have you ever been to GoofyAuctions.com?
no...

29. Quote something:
insert something witty.

30. Ever done something really awful to someone?
maybe, but not intentionally.

31. Last thing you ate?
stale cheese puffs (the naturals kind, the only kind I eat anymore) that are now going in the trash.

32. Plans for tomorrow?
putting away things from our trip, and maybe uploading photos.

33. Anyone in the room with you?
Nope, I think both the cats are in other parts of the house.

34. Miss anyone?
yeah...

35. Know someone that's lying to you?
My mom, all the time.

36. Walmart, Kmart, or Target?
Target! and it's the only one in that list that I'll willingly shop at!

37. How close did you ever come to getting a nose ring?
Not the nose... I did do a belly ring... might get it redone someday.

I Got Tagged

Current mood: sore but content

I was tagged...

1.) Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2.) People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things as well as post these rules.
3.) At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4.) Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog!

My eight random facts:

1) I have many health issues, but I'm not unhealthy. (Poly cystic ovaries, allergies, asthma, arthritis (auto-immune), dysthimia, eczema, insulin resistance...)

2) I have a strong desire to go shoe shopping because I want shoes I can wear in the rain and not have cold wet feet.

3) I desperately want to get in touch with some people I haven't seen in years for no reason other then to know that they are OK.

4) I love cooking! I have more cookbooks then I'll ever use, I have more kitchen supplies then I know, and my husband raves about how I could be a gourmet chef. And while I enjoy my cooking and do believe I am skilled I have a hard time ever wanting to pursue it accademically because the cooking teacher in H.S. yelled at me for mixing liquids and drieds too soon. I've later learned that's a debateably rule, but she still ruined it for me.

5) I have always wanted to get tattoos, but haven't. I was planning to wait until I was old enough and then when I did get to that point Kevin told me he wouldn't think of me the same and then I just couldn't bring myself to do it. But I do have a blog post about what I'd want. Now that I know I have an auto-immune disorder though I think I'm much less likely to go for it. I've had more skin issues and infections and I just want to avoid risk as much as possible.

6) I am way too addicted to all these silly surveys' and blog games. Probably as much as reading articles and making real posts, or as much as trying to write something worthwhile. I feel like if I don't blog I'm not keeping in touch. And I'm guessing Corey is so aware of this about me, that that was why she tagged me to play.

7) I love my job. I've always wanted to be a housewife and to live my life for my husband. I can't imagine one I'd like more (except maybe getting paid to hang out with my husband or friends).

8) I question myself more than I let show. For the most part I like who I am, but I still compare myself too much to people I look up to. (Courtney, I'm leaving this one on because it word for word is true of me too, I'd also think it's true for lots of people. But the honesty is a strength that some just don't have.)

OK So now I tag:

Rhonda, Mica, Stephanie, Jennifer, Laura, Luke, Kevin, Michelle

YOU'RE IT!

My version of a HS reunion

(taken from my Myspace bulletin)

Fill this out about your high school years! The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be.

1. Who was your best friend?
Kevin, Liz, Evie

2.What sports did you play?
None

3. What kind of car did you drive?
My mom's "big blue whale" it was a dark blue Volkswagon Vanegan

4. It's Friday night, where were you?
Youth group, at home, out for the evening with Kevin.

5. Were you a party animal?
not at all

6. Were you considered a flirt?
ask Kevin....

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
I was in choir senior year at school, but in youth and adult choirs at church since I was a little kid.

8. Were you a nerd?
considering the only picture yearbook staff took of me (and didn't use) was in the Sequoia library with my backpack and a pile of books and such all around... you tell me.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
no

10. Can you sing the fight song?
I can remember a couple cheers for the schools I went to. I think Thornton had a school song but basically only the band and choir members knew it. I wasn't in choir there b/c I wanted to take college psychology sophomore year too much!

11. Who was your favorite teacher?
what year? freshman and sophomore years - Mrs. Hagel. I don't really think I had a favorite teacher at Sequoia... it felt like all the teachers where just waiting there for one more year to retire and not there because of a love to teach. I did enjoy photography and drama, but not so much the teachers. And senior year was hands down Mr. Urban - one of the best Psychology teachers I ever had. I got to basically be a TA in that class since it was so stupid to take HS psych after having completed (and done well I might add) in college psych before that... but supposedly I needed the credit. I regret not just going to JC my senior year. But I am grateful for choir and the friends I made there.

12. Favorite class?
Fresh - Child education, Soph - A.P. Psych, Jr - Photography, Senior - Handeling Behavior (child dev at JC), or Choir, or Psych

13. What was your school's full name?
Thornton High School 94-96
Sequoia High School 96-97
Woodside High School 97-98

14. School mascot?
Trogans (yes, like the condoms...)
Cherokees
Wildcats

15. Did you go to the Prom?
At SHS and WHS, yes. But WHS prom was BAD for me... lead to ER visit in SF.

16. If you could go back and do it over, would you?
I'd go to college sooner.

17. What do you remember most about graduation?
Thinking about how I wished I had just done it early since I could have. I could have taken one more JC class from the concurrent enrollment schedule and just been done early. To me the fanfair and the march just didn't mean anything to me.

18. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends?
Yup

19. Where were you on senior ditch day?
If I remember right I was in class.

20. Did you have a job your senior year?
on and off.

21. Where did you go most often for lunch?
where ever a friend was willing to drive me, hanging out by myself under a tree or in the library, the tea garden (at SHS), walk to Safeway/Rite Aid (depending on the school), at 'the pit'...
I was always a loner, but I guess there were lots of places I'd go. I also walked to the Sanrio store quite a bit jr year because it was a block away and I've always been addicted to stickers and other kawaii things.

22. Have you gained weight since then?
I have PCOS, if I hadn't gained weight since then it would have been a medical miricle.

23. What did you do after graduation?
Went with some of my best friends and family to dinner at Olive Garden (back when it used to be to die for, now it's just so so.)

24. When did you graduate?
1998

25. Who was your Senior prom date?
Kevin, the ER doc. But the ER doc got further with me that night... yeah, I was SICK! 106 feaver and such.

26. Are you going to your 10 year reunion?
This website works for me. Plus I think the people I'd most like to see I'm in contact here, and it's a handful of people from each school. I wouldn't be able to choose which school I'd want to go for.

27. Who was your home room teacher?
I remember we had blocks and periods at THS and basically the blocks where like two periods as far as time, and I think those were like our home rooms, but they also changed every semester.

28: Were you friends with the person who posted this?
yes, and I was finally able to meet her when my HS choir went to Disneyland for competitions.

Working bottom to top, so it hasn't seemed so long yet, but having 44 more to go seems like a lot.

46. Do you watch the Olympics?
Not really, but my parents are obsessive about figure skating, I think they killed the joy of it for me. I've occasionally found gymnastics facinating, though now it just depresses me.

47. Last bar you went to?
My kitchen. I've discovered I REALLY love vanilla vodka with cream soda. It's so bad for me too... I'm not supposed to drink with the meds I'm on, and I'm not supposed to have too much sugar. Oh well, a small drink every now and then won't kill me, will it?

48. Do you have a favorite number?
not really.

49. Were you an outcast in middle school?
Not so much an outcast as much as an invisible.

50. Are you multitasking right now?
if typing and trying to get sleepy is multi-tasking...

51. Could you handle being in the military?
I can barely handle being a housewife! But I greatly admire and respect anyone who does serve in this great countries military.

52. Do you believe in Karma?
I believe that negative actions lead to negative effects, and good will is rewarded, but a strict observance of always doing things to avoid negative karma seems a bit neurotic to me.

53. What is your school mascot?
Honestly I don't know what to pick. I went to three different H.S. Last school, college, was the Warriors.

54. How is the weather today?
It was nice, but got cold at the end of the day.

55. Stupidest thing you ever did with your cell?
puting it in the same section of my purse as my nail file and ruining the screen.

51 ?'s, Why 51? I have no idea...

1. If you could have picked out your OWN first name..what name would you have loved to have been called growing up? I was always drawn to simple names or common names. It seemed like there weren't any other Crystal's and never in stories. That changed as I got older.

2. What is your favorite comfy thing to wear? pretty much any on my PJ pants from Torrid or Avenue, and ribbed tank tops.

3. Last thing you ate: Dinner was lasagna, garlic bread and string beans.

5. I say tomato, you say: poo-poo ca-ca head.

6. Last person you hugged? my husband, as I thanked him for helping me repair my blog, and I kissed him too.

7. Visit a Zoo or visit an aquarium? I prefer aquariums, zoo animals are stinky.

8. How many U.S states have you been to?: All of the west coast. Some of the mid west and absolutely none of the east coast sad to say, with the exception of an overnight lay over in D.C./Virginia which really didn't feel like a visit to the east or a stay there.

11. Name something you like about yourself? I think I'm witty and smart with the things I need to be smart about.

13. Do you have a best gal friend?: A few.

14. Do you get your 8 hours of sleep each night? More often then not I get much more then 10 and it feels like 2!

15. When was the last time you did your nails with a pretty polish? I painted my nails a spring time light green a few weeks back and have gotten tons of compliments. Normally I wear dark reds and blacks and such, but I went different. I felt like a pod person. It's starting to come off now. Thanks for reminding me I need to do my nails again tomorrow.

16. Favorite type of Food: mex, tex/mex, cal/mex, italian, homestyle/comfort. Anything with cheese or tomatos so long as there is no seafood/fish.

17. Favorite holiday:Christmas

18. Can you sleep with music on? Yes, I prefer quietness, though sometimes I need music to sleep.

19. Do you have any house plants? Lots of "lucky bamboo" and some other houseplants. I think my Bonsai is dying, that makes me sad. Those are expensive and my dlh gave me that for my birthday.

21. Would you like to learn to play an instrument..or take up pottery if it were free? I've kinda given up on instruments. I used to play the play the flute and I'd love to play the drums. Pottery would be fun too though.

22. Would you ever consider painting a room in your house red? yes, I've thought about doing the livingroom that color.

23. Butter, plain, or salted popcorn? I'll have some salt and popcorn with my butter and heart attack please. But honestly I don't hardly ever eat popcorn because it gives me hiccups and indegestion every time!

24. Who would make a good President? Rhonda, or Condi. Condi and Rhonda in '08!

25. Last time you went on a roller coaster? Many years ago... I think 2001. I normally avoid them and I've only ever gone on kiddie ones. I get terrible vertigo and stumble around like a drunk for weeks afterwords and need medications and it's just basically something to avoid.

26. Have you ever went water rafting? uh, at an amusement park, aside from that I went tubeing once and got my butt stuck in a u shaped rock. I called out and some cute guy from a near by camp pushed me out. It kinda killed my desire to go floating down water after that. And that guy may have only been cute because he helped me, I don't remember, just that he was about my age, and I was 12 then. Oh, and now that we live by the skykomish river I have sort of thought about getting a raft and going down river again, but I'm only thinking, I don't think it'll actually be doing.

27. What magazines do you enjoy browsing through? Cooking club of America (someone please renew my membershipt!), Marriage Partnership, various beading mags, plus size positive stuff, sometimes Seattle Living or home type ones...

30. How is the weather right now?: Cold. The snow is mostly all melted and it's not as cold as it was a few days ago when we got a foot of snow, but it's still cold.

31. Have you ever fired a gun? Just a be-be gun. I want to own one. Kevin has a paintball gun and needs to get together with some friend and go shoot each-other. I'd love to learn to shoot a riffle, but I fear my arms may be too short.

32. Favorite flower: Fire and ice roses and carnations.

33. What was the last movie you watched? It's been a while since we've been to the theaters and at home we last watched on of Kevin's Star Trek movies, yes, I love him that much.

34. Do you wear contacts: Nope. I might consider if I ever needed glasses. So far I'm the only one in my immediate family that doesn't need glasses. And that's only partially true, I do wear reading glasses if I'm doing lots of book reading... but they aren't prescription.

35. Where was the last place you went besides your house? store

39. What do you keep on top of your refrigerator? Cans of cat food (those are special treat, normally only dry food.), the fabric I need to put in the windows of the kitchen and mud room, my treasure box, and some oversized tupperware that doesn't fit in our shallow cupboard.

43. Where is the weirdest place you have slept? I think it's a tie between the back store room at the store I used to work at, or in my pick-up at a rest stop on my way home.

44. Last time you went bowling? ages ago, I don't even remember when. I think when Kevin and I were dating in HS. We have coupons though and want to go again soon.

45. Do you have an iPod?: Yup, and I have my materialistic eyes set on an iPhone. Macs RULE!

at first, yes

[[The Questions You Love:Completely and Utterly Pointless Ones]]

47. Do you eat all the servings in the food groups on a daily basis? I try to make sure I get the meats and veggies/fruits done, but if I were to eat the daily reccomended serving of grains and breads I'd be the worlds largest person! OK, maybe not, but it does make me gain weight.

Both are too sweet. I prefer Tillamook from the grocery store. Or Dryer's reduced sugar, or homemade.

Physics or chemistry?
I don't know. I only took Physics for a week, and my Psych classes kept me from needing science classes. Considering I dropped Physics after a week I probably wouldn't pick that one.

Earphones or headphones?
Headphones, especially around ear ones that block out all other sounds. I can never get earphones to stay in my ears and that bugs me.

pink or teal?
Teal, but only because that's the color for PCOS and Ovarian cancer awareness.

Earrings or a ring?
Um, I'm a beader and want to be a jewler. I just like jewelry!

Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings or Star Wars
Man, do I have to choose!?!?

Starbucks or Caribou?
Vinaccios.

[[Another Wave of Random Questions]]

What is your favorite Disney movie?
Beauty and the Beast... or Snow White... or well, I like a lot of the older ones.

How much jewelry do you own?
Between what I buy, what I make, and what is passed down to me... I have one of those large jewlery dressers full (a dresser, not a box mind you!) I need more space for rings, and that doesn't include my inventory of bracelets and earrings I've made and need to sell someday!

Meat is yummy. I'm anemic, bring it!

Around here this time of year? 3:45!

11. What/who do you think of last before you go to bed?
changes always.

12. AC or fan?
Not really an issue right now... it's all of 21 degrees outside, and that's warmed up a lot! It was 16 degrees when I first woke up! I love movies, but never, ever, under ANY circumstances watch "The Stand In". It is by far the worst movie I've ever seen, and I'm super forgiving with movies. I wasted 2 hours of my life watching the whole darn thing hoping there would be at least a redeeming scene or ending. There was nothing!

26. If you were put in a room with nothing except for a pencil and paper, what would you do?
Depends how bored I am. I might puncture holes in the paper, or draw a pretty picture, or write a mean letter to whoever trapped me in there...

27. Is it always easy finding your remote every time you want to watch TV?
If I used it last then it's easy, I always put it back in the remote caddy. Kevin however... well I still love him.

28. How was your day?
It's still morning so while my R.A. is hurting my back today, I still have hope for the day.

Looking to 2007

THE YEAR 2007

1. Will you be looking for a new job?
not planning on it, we hope to start the adoption process and so I really don't think having a job would be a good idea.

2. Will you be looking for a new relationship?
If being a new mother counts then yes.

3. New house?
Did that this year. I think we are both really sick of moving and want to stay in our new place for a good long time.

4. What will you do different in 07?
Not pack boxes! Seems like in the last few years everything has been in boxes, now everything should finally have a place and no more living from boxes!

5. New Years resolution?
Grow a better garden. My container garden basically has taken a back burner now that I actually have a front and back yard, and now that I have yards I need to take care of them and make it look better then grass with weeds.

6. What will you not be doing in 07?
moving.

7. Any trips planned?
CA for Easter, camping in the summer. But otherwise not really anything. We want to save our money and days for when adoption happens.

8. Wedding plans?
None that I know of... Kevin and I will celebrate our 7th anniversary.

9. What's on your calendar?
Not much... I need people to give me their birthdays...

10. What can't you wait for?
adoption, though I know that might not happen untill '08.

11. What would you like to see happen different?
Not need to be on so many meds.

12. What about yourself will you be changing?
see above & possibly becoming a mom by the end of '07

13. What happened in 06 that you didn't think would ever happen?
I found out I have arthritis!

14. Will you tell the one you love how you feel?
I do regularly

15. Will you dress differently this year than you did in 06?
Only because there is always new things in fashion, but I'm not looking to drastically change my look, I think I'm stylish for the most part.

16. Will you start or quit drinking?
Considering my drinking habits are about 4 drinks a month I don't think I need to change anything.

18. Will you do charity work?
We'll probably do more food banks, and who knows where the Lord may call us to serve.

19. Will you go to bars?
We usually don't, but sometimes we do like to go to dinner and drink type places....

20. Will you be nice to people you dont know?
I always try to.

21. Do you expect 07 to be a good year for you?
I hope so

22. How much did you change from this time last year til now?
I'm someone happy to live out in the country and I never thought I could live anywhere that didn't have a mall withing 15 minutes from home.

23. Do you plan on having a child?
We plan on adopting. If God where to change my infertility that would be an awesome blessing, but because of what I know about PCOS I'd also be very affraid of loosing the baby during the pregnancy.

24. Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now?
I hope so, I don't give up on people easily.

25. Major lifestyle changes?
Starting a family

26. Will you be moving?
No!

27. What will you make sure doesn't happen in 07 that happened in 06?
Letting so much food go to waist. We had fridge monsters multiple times and I've probably thrown away 6 garbage cans full of food during this year. I hope to use my deep freeze more and also Kevin got me a vacuume bag system to seal and freeze food so I can make meals ahead and not have things go bad in the fridge. I hate food waist. Grr.

28. What are your New Years Eve plans?
Hopefully friends will come over and have game night.

29. Will you have someone to kiss at midnight?
yes, unless he's still sick and I'm better. But right now we both have a cold his dad gave us while they were visiting.

30. Wish for 2007?
To turn the 3rd bedroom into a nursery and have a little bundle of joy to live in there.

6 weird habits about myself

Current mood: hopeful

The Game (if you've read a blog recently i'm sure you know it): The first player of this game starts with the "6 weird things/habits about yourself," and people who get tagged need to write a blog of their six weird habits/things, as well as state this rule clearly. In the end you need to choose six people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "You are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read yours.

6 weird habits about myself:

1) I used to love to move all the time. Now I'm starting to hate it.

2) I bite my lips or cheeks uncontrolably when I'm nerveous. When I'm stressed and nervous I do it so bad I make them bloody.

3) I love to go for random drives to get lost and try to find my way home again.

4) I'm a compulsive sticker and craft supplies shopper. I buy more then I ever take the time to actually finish.

5) If I see plants for sale I will look for the sick ones to take on the challenge of nursing them back to health.

6) I hate talking on the phone. I love talking and hanging out with my friends, those I love, but I hate talking on the phone. I especially hate making business related calls, setting up doctor appointments, calling the bank, those things send me through the roof in an insane way.

Six people I am tagging:
If you've opened this and read this far you are now tagged!

Getting to know me.

Borrowed from Laura.

1. Name someone with the same birthday as you:
- Ed Asner, Gloria Foster, Yaphet Kotto, Chip Davis, Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Savage, Jonny Lee Miller

2. Where was your first kiss?
- Backseat of a full, moving church van. Don't ask.

3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property?
- No, nothing permanent.

4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex?
- Nope.

5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people?
- Yes, as a soloist even.

6. What's the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
- Legs.

7. What really turns you on?
- Confidence and curves, an unbeatable combo.

8. What do you order at Starbucks?
- Mocha Frappuchino.

- More discipline, and less reliance on just being clever, in school.

- No, except for minor medical purposes.

11. Say something totally random about yourself.
- I won a horse show in 5th grade.

12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
- My wife think's I am a cuddlier version of Vin Diesel, and others tend to say I look like some sitcom actor.

13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or TV shows?
- I don't watch much TV, but I will sit down for a kiddie show if it's clever.

14. Did you have braces?
- Yes, and successfully played the trombone at the same time, thank you very much!

- About 44 hours.

29. Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room?
- No.

30. Do you actually read these when other people fill them out?
- I'll glance at them, but only remember an answer or two for blackmail purposes.
